Wassily is an armchair designed by Marcel Breuer for the Knoll brand. Made of curved tubular steel with a polished chrome finish and leather straps. The Wassily armchair was designed in 1925, when Marcel Breuer was still an apprentice at the Bauhaus school. The chair was created for the flat of the painter Wassily Kandinsky, a leading exponent of the Bauhaus, and is also known as Model B3. Inspired by the frame of a bicycle and the constructivist theories of the De Stjil movement, Breuer reduced the form of the classic club chair to its essentials. The Wassily chair is considered revolutionary for this reason, but also for its choice of materials such as bent steel tubing, and its production methods. Light, sophisticated, and with clean lines, it is a true piece of modern design history, to be used in the living room, but also in offices and workspaces. The KnollStudio logo and Marcel Breuer's signature are engraved on the base of the chair. In this version: upholstered in black Spinneybeck leather cod. BLBLK.
