The Seal Armchair with High Back by Menu, is one of Ib Kofod-Larsen's best known designs, created in 1952, probably the most expressive, in which you can find all the cosy warmth of the Swedish ski resort from which it takes its name, Sälen. The Seal Armchair with High Back shows the Danish designer's attention to detail and comfort by using the constant of organic shapes turned in handcrafted wood. The design features all the Scandinavian mid-century style cues, giving it a casual elegance. Irresistible to the eye, it has an agile and light appearance, yet at the same time inviting enough for anyone wishing to enjoy the comfort of an enveloping armchair. Each line is a dance of rounded corners that contrast with the sinuous upholstered shell. High-backed armchair, solid wood frame turned with a numerically controlled system, then oiled and polished by hand. Available in Natural Oak or Walnut. Plywood seat padded with pocketed springs and polyurethane foam, upholstery in a choice of 3 options: a Re-wool fabric or two colours of Dakar leather. Seat height 40 cm. From the same collection, a low-backed variant and a footstool pouf are available.
