Tense Material is a table signed by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga for MDF Italia. Available in different finishes of materials and many sizes.Tense Material is an innovative project whose design focuses on the technology and the ability of its components to stay in tension, allowing the top to reach large dimensions while maintaining lightness and a perfect flatness. The top is a supporting composite panel made from an internal frame in aluminium profile and a resin honeycomb filling and two aluminium skins. Steel legs with internal structural tie-rod. Made of reconstructed stone or reconstructed marble and brass. Top, edges and legs covered with material application in thickness of about 3 mm. The reconstructed stone is made with a mixture of natural and industrial materials and artificially reproduces the process of sedimentation of river sandstone, giving its appearance to the treated artifact. The reconstructed marble, however, is obtained starting from marble powder mixed with a binder, the result is a white Carrara or black ebony effect. Finally, the brass used by MDF Italia is a particular alloy with a specification of workability better than others, so that the fundamental characteristics of the material are maintained unchanged.
