Conceived by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Taccia Small by Flos is a table lamp with base in nickel-plated ABS+PC, body in extruded aluminum and diffuser in transparent blown glass. The extraordinary small version of an outstanding Flos icon. Taccia Small is a table lamp that speaks of history. Conceived in 1958, it has been produced since 1962 and still holds the appeal of a timeless piece. Taccia Small is reduced in size, if compared to the original model, which makes it more versatile and easier to place in narrow spaces such as coffee tables and nightstands. This table lamp provides indirect and reflected light and is supplied with an elegant adjustable blown glass diffuser. The iconic metal support echoes the shape of a Doric column, Taccia's signature feature. The latter was studied in order to hide the light source and to improve the heat diffusion of the light bulb. Its timeless design and innate class make Taccia Small by Flos the perfect element that lights up the space and does not go unnoticed. “This is a very interesting lamp because of its history, and because some people today think that it is a post-modern object. This is very funny. It was made in 1962 and my brother and I had not the slightest intention of making a post-modern lamp.” - Achille Castiglioni, 1987.
