Taccia LED is a table lamp designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, and produced by Brand FLOS.Taccia is a true design icon, in production since 1962 and still retains the charm of a timeless object. A refined table light, thanks to its considerable size it can also be used as a floor lamp. The light source is concealed within the metal support, profiled with protrusions to improve the diffusion of heat from the bulb. This technical device, which makes the base resemble a classical column, has become the main formal feature of the lamp, and has decreed its great success. The polymethylmethacrylate diffuser represents a true return to the origins, as it was in plastic, and not glass, that the designers had imagined the diffuser, but the heat developed by the incandescent bulb tended to deform the diffuser itself, which is why FLOS made it in glass.
