Swirl Vase - Medium by Tom Dixon is part of the Swirl collection that is an example of the contamination of styles: it plays with geometry and balance, using a material that makes each piece unique.Swirl Vase - Medium is reminiscent of the post-modern Italian aesthetic, with its solid and decisive volumes, blending it with pop colours and textures that simulate the organic veining of natural stone. The Japanese influence of Ikebana, the art of arranging floral compositions, also intervenes in this piece. Like a sculpture, the geometries overlap, gaining verticality and deceiving the eye with a false precariousness. The material used is recycled residues from the extraction and processing of marble mixed with resin, which makes each Swirl unique as the resulting patterns are completely random. Vase in marble powder treated with resin, the vertical body is firmly anchored to the square base.
