Stool 60 Kontrasti is a limited edition of the stool designed by Alvar Aalto and produced by Artek. Entirely made of birch wood, it features an elegant detail in birch wood in a contrasting shade.The limited edition of the Stool 60 Kontrasti by Artek is a special version featuring unique characteristics compared to the original mode. The Stool 60 Kontrast stands out for the finish of the legs and the seat, giving the stool a luxurious and exclusive look.Moreover, every stool is numbered and signed by the manufacturer, which makes it more special and collectable. The Kontrasti thermo-treated birch veneer is applied to the legs in a contrasting shade, to highlight the beauty of this great innovation. The darker strips of veneer appear again on the seat surface to highlight the sustainable use of wood offcuts from the legs in the construction of the seat. The limited edition of the Stool 60 Kontrasti has been created to celebrate the anniversary of designer Alvar Aalto's birth, who conceived the original model of the stool in 1933. The choice of colours used for the limited edition has been inspired by Finnish nature.
