After over half a century since its inception, the RM58 armchair, designed by Roman Modzelewski, makes its re-debut, this time as a piece of furniture prepared for serial production. The RM58 armchair - an icon of Polish design, until now only seen at exhibitions - for the first time has appeared on the market as a product. This is a dream-come-true for its designer. It is a dream-come-true for many of us. The production of the RM58 by the VZÓR company using new technologies and materials gives us all a chance to experience the RM58 fully - to appreciate its beauty and to be able to sit comfortably in it. The classic is back, and each of us can witness Polish design, not only at exhibitions, but also in our homes. VZÓR came into existence thanks to a great passion for design, and a dream of creating a collection based on the icons of Polish design, which in the future will include the designs of prominent youngcreators. The brand was created by Jakub Sobiepanek at the Warsaw Academyof Fine Arts, as part of his master's thesis prepared at the atelierof Tomasz Rygalik. His work was rewarded by the annual WarsawAcademy of Fine Arts “Coming Out” award as one of the four mostprominent in design in 2012.The creation of the brand, comprising of the creation of a consistentserial production of Polish design, took almost two years. Thanks to the undertaking, the conditions were created so thatproducts, of which only a few people were aware, that so far have onlydecorated museum exhibitions, could be produced industrially, and become available for consumers of design. Everything is donerespecting patent rights and copyrights, while using the most modernproduction technologies.According to the brand concept, the collections of the VZÓR brand willbe presented not by loosely interrelated products but ratherby the profiles of the designers themselves. The brand debuted on the market in June 2012, introducing the cultarmchair designed by Roman Modzelewski (RM58). Thanksto the rotational moulding technology which had not been usedin the Polish furniture industry so far, the historical model of thearmchair was reproduced and now is available in two versions: mattversion and a high gloss classic version. The precisely developed formconstitutes a 100% replica of the original.
