Richard III Armchair

Richard III is an armchair designed by Philippe Starck for the Baleri brand. Armchair with completely molded structure in rigid structural polyurethane, painted with polyurethane enamel in matt black or metallic silver. Removable cushion cover in fabrics and leathers from the Baleri catalog.In 1985, Starck 'ripped' a page out of the history of furniture classics to rewrite a new but equally fascinating one. The Parisian designer designed the bergère armchair from scratch, a protagonist of French courts and salons, beloved of the monarchs and bourgeoisie of the Belle Époque.While respecting the original design, Starck keeps the front of the armchair unchanged, with its cozy, abundant armrests and soft seat, while, in opposition, he empties the back entirely, in favor of light lines from which the light can shine through.The finishes were chosen for the structure, black or metallic silver, making it extremely up-to-date, and suitable for a contemporary environment that follows current trends without renouncing a retro style.
