Designed by American architect and designer Warren Platner, the armchair Platner is part of the collection of the same name for Knoll. Its structure is made of vertically and horizontally shaped metal rods with an 18-carat gold-plated finish and is covered with a transparent protective varnish; the shell is moulded in fiberglass with variable density foam cushions. To celebrate 50 years since its creation, Knoll celebrates the Platner collection with a precious 18 kt gold base. The small armchair Platner is characterised by a very elegant line, ergonomics and comfort. The formal, cold purity of the metal is enhanced by the visual softness and quality of the fabrics in the upholstery of the cushions and backrest. Masterfully designed in 1966, it is still a contemporary chair today.
