Pavilion AV1, designed by Anderssen & Voll for & Tradition, is a chair made with bent steel tubes and pressed veneer. The veneered back and seat are finished with a PU lacquer. All chairs feature a stackable injection molded plastic tray under the seat. Located in the park of Copenhagen's Kastellet castle, overlooking the waterfront that is home to the Little Mermaid, the Langelinie Pavilion stands with a resilient spirit. The first Pavilion was built in 1885. The Pavilion chair by Andersen & Voll echoes its resilience. Here the challenge was to design a stackable chair used for mass seating in this iconic and multipurpose venue, the Langelinie Pavilion. The Pavilion chair has an airy feel, with thin arms and legs that give it a lightweight feel.
