Molletta Vulcan Bench

Molletta Vulcano the new bench by Baldessari and Baldessari for Riva 1920 with the same shape, gives cheerfulness with the usefulness of the bench. The Molletta Vulcano is the new proposal from Riva 1920 that will be present at the Milan Furniture Fair, 2016. Playing with the typical pop art outline, it gives the cedar wood a hyper-natural interpretation of the material. The object thus takes on a double life: the first is that of a large seat designed for large interiors and outdoors; the second is that of a powerful sculptural element, capable of defining the identity of the surrounding space. The enlarged molletta is, however, also a tribute to the simple, anonymous design that has always silently shared our daily domestic life. The aesthetic strength of this MOLLETTA owes much to the skilful processing of solid wood that Riva 1920 has in its tradition. In this seat in particular, the working of the oblique cuts enhances the grain and nuances of the natural cedar, creating almost a virtual texture that covers the object entirely.
