Middleweight Pouf

Middleweight is a sofa by Michael Anastassiades for Karakter. Steel structure with powder coating in black, blue, and khaki finishes, leather or fabric upholstery, and plastic gliders.Middleweight is the first collection of upholstered seats by the Cypriot/English designer. Anastassiades expresses itself fully in this new challenge, the series welcomes the two Karakter universes, the typical Italian comfortable lounge sofa, and compact and defined Danish dimensions. A slender structure contains cushions held together by zips with carefully rounded corners like folded paper.The designer tells us about the project: "This was my first sofa design, but actually the biggest surprise didn't come until the product was finalized - when we stood there, looking at the actual sofa, and it looked exactly like what I had in my head. It is great satisfaction as a designer. You can't accelerate the process of design. An idea has to come when the time is right, so you have to stretch the process as long as possible and allow for enough time to get the ideas and experiments across."
