LC12 La Roche is a rectangular table by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for Cassina. Frame in steel rod in polish or epoxy lacquered in light blue colour. Rectangular tops made of chipboard panel veneered and edged in natural oak or black stained oak or made of chipboard panel veneered in American walnut with the edge in massive American walnut in matt finishing. The tops are available also made of float transparent glass or moulded glass. Top supports are black plastic material (model with crystal top) or chromium-plated steel (model with wooden top). Feet in chromium-plated steel and adjustable bottom in black plastic material.LC12 is a table designed in 1925 for La Roche house. The characteristic is the contrast of the proportions between the two components: the support and the top. The base to the minimum of width for its vertical shape, against the top to the maximum for its horizontal measure. The juxtaposition of dimensional relationships also accentuated in other compositions by the Maestro, confirms the presence of a plastic-poetic value, mainly articulated by the inversion of the roles of the parts: the vibrant lightness of the top, against its true weight, the reassuring stability of the pedestal against its visual lightness.
