Kamodo Chair - Coffee

Kamodo Chair by 101 Copenhagen stems from the inspiration of designers Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl towards the traditional shape of Japanese clay ovens, resulting in a minimalist fibre cement chair that emphasises the unique Far Eastern aesthetic. The Kamodo Chair takes its name from the Japanese word literally meaning 'place for the cauldron', a symbol of the traditional Japanese domestic hearth, whose characteristic indented shape of the base is copied. The comfort is completed with a one-sided armrest that emphasises the harmonious asymmetry, giving the ensemble a touch of ethnic primitivism. Each piece is hand-painted to create a unique textured surface. Emphasising the balance between sharp architectural lines and Oriental aesthetics, the Kamado chair is a sculptural work that stands out not only in its appearance but also in its enveloping comfort.Armchair in cement fibre.
