Jetsons Armchair by Giovannetti was born from a 2001 project by designer Guglielmo Berchicci: his designs are an expression of continuous formal and conceptual research, aimed at materialising possible future scenarios in the real world.Jetsons Armchair fits into the contemporary environment by projecting into the future. Like a space capsule, the fibreglass outer shell has a glossy, smooth finish; its line, however, allows itself to be shaped on the inner side, acquiring the curves that distinguish the enveloping back from the armrests. The upholstered, enveloping seat invites you to enjoy relaxing in a seat that acts as a nest, making you feel protected as if in a cradle, but at the same time is as dynamic and sensual as an extraterrestrial object. Jetson identifies a contemporary, informal and freer way of sitting. Jetson is a hammock, a chaise-longue, a tribal throne, a spaceship seat, a cradle, a nest, with its soft, cozy yet dynamic, modern, sensual and alien form. Swivel armchair.
