Imbuto is a floor lamp designed by the designer Luigi Caccia Dominioni, 1953 and produced by the famous Azucena brand. The name of this lamp also explains very clearly the inspiration from which the shape is born: a funnel. However, only the name remains in this funnel object. The lampshade is a metal cone that extends towards the other thanks to a thin stem from which a large halo of light comes out. Originally the project also had another name, namely “flûte”. This shows that Luigi Caccia Dominioni's ideas came from simple objects but also from rarer tools. The humble funnel meets the sophisticated flute, an instrument that collects and guides water next to another that holds wine and champagne, one functional and one exceptional, one in plastic or metal and one in crystal: this was the world of Caccia Dominioni, where the exceptionality of everyday life and the most special moments coexisted. With its essentiality and functionality, the Imbuto lamp still proves to be a clean and decisive object, which can disappear or become the protagonist of a room, accompany a contemporary style or a traditional environment. And it doesn't matter if the room is large or small, if you need to illuminate something or simply create a mood, because Imbuto will always be a discreet protagonist of our domestic landscape.
