Grace is a chair by Tove Kindt-Larsen for Gubi. It is made of hand-woven rattan, a natural material, and includes a circular seat on a slightly larger, staggered circular base, with a wraparound back populated by long rattan rings. The lower part of the backrest is instead woven to support the generously padded seat cushion. The Danish architect puts the flexibility of rattan at the heart of the Grace Chair project. The result is a sophisticated seat in which the essential sign is made important by craftsmanship. Grace Chair is a piece of design furniture that fills the space thanks to the personality of the design and the strong presence of a unique and delicate material such as rattan. His furniture was characterized by a refined sense of quality and a design language that responded to the changing tastes of the time. Tove Kindt-Larsen also moved away from designing room sets to favor single pieces of furniture so that end users can curate their own spaces.
