Gaulino is a chair by Oscar Tussquets Blanca for Barcelona Design, with structure in solid natural varnished ash, seat in leather. Gaulino is a chair that has marked the history of design; designed in 1987, was selected for the Industrial Design Prize and Adi-Fad in1989 and in Iberdiseño in 1990, since then it has always been included in the retrospective shows of Spanish Design, become a point of reference in twentieth century. The designer Oscar Tussquets Blanca said " In this work, some critics detected my admiration for Salvador Dalí but, when I saw it finished, I thought that the clearest influences came from Antoni Gaudí and Carlo Mollino: this is why the chair was called Gaulino. It was my first really industrial project in wood; I learned and enjoyed it very much and I think it is one of my best works."
