Ekstrem is an iconic armchair designed by the Norwegian designer Terje Ekstrøm, and produced by Varier. Made with steel structure, covered in foam rubber and with a mesh fabric cover available in six colors. Ekstrem is a design of furniture that fills the space thanks to the generous dimensions, the personality of the design, and the strong stage presence, which more than an armchair makes it look like a work of art. It is one of the first postmodern projects of Norwegian design that boldly combines aesthetics and ergonomics, offering extreme comfort to the seat, accompanying the body, and following the movements despite the elaborate design. Its unexpected geometrics allows you to sit forward with feet on the ground, sideways with legs placed on the armrests, or completely backward with the front of the torso against the chair's back. The refined details, the complex workmanship, make it sculptural and functional at the same time, communicating a form of contemporary and unprecedented luxury.Ekstrem is an armchair that mixes different visions and finds its purest synthesis in the daring use of color and in the fluidity of uses. Furniture that lends itself to the design of different spaces, from interior design to contract, in favor of a newfound informality, sofas, armchairs, accessories, and carpets aims to make the inhabited space more convivial. Its design, therefore, becomes the pretext to surround himself with a combination of special objects, all coherent with each other. For this iconic armchair, Varier used the Knit fabric made by the manufacturer Norwegian Devold. A fabric consisting of a continuous wool yarn that adapts to the shapes and offers the necessary elasticity for the needs required by this type of seat.
