Egg Chair is the famous armchair designed in 1958 by the great designer Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. The Egg armchair by Jacobsen is covered in a wide range of fabrics and leathers. The aluminum base is mounted on a polished satin steel pedestal. The shell is in polyurethane foam with fiberglass reinforcement. The foam for the upholstery and seat cushion is made of cold-hardened polyurethane foam. The Egg armchair is one of the most famous and important pieces of furniture in the history of international design, one of Jacobsen's most interesting projects. The egg shape was born from the introduction of a new technique, such as the use of a resistant foam shell under the coating. These features make the Egg Chair original for its sophisticated and refined design. Initially designed for the Royal hotel lobby in Copenhagen, this beautiful lounge chair exudes a timeless charm and elegance, which encompasses the designer's project path, between the avant-garde of De Stijl's Neo-Romanticism, the avant-garde instances of the Bauhaus, and the rigor of the Scandinavian style.
