The EA 104 Aluminium Chair by Vitra is one of the most extraordinary pieces of design furniture of the 20th century: lightweight design and usability. Charles and Ray Eames originally designed it in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA). For the design of this chair, the design duo abandoned the principle of the shell seat, instead stretching a fabric or leather panel between two aluminium side elements to create a taut but elastic seat. The chair adapts to the person's body and is very comfortable, even without complex upholstery. INFOModel EA104 swivel with armrestsChromed base Hopsak fabric colour 63 Poppy Red
