Conceptualized in 1946 by Finnish designer Ilmari Tapiovaara, Domus Lounge Chair by Artek is the perfect representation of the Scandinavian design canons. Extremely comfortable and refined, Domus Lounge Chair offers the highest levels of functionality provided by the armrests and the ergonomic seat and backrest. The lounge chair features a structure entirely made of solid birch or oak, with or without upholstery, with seat and backrest made of a single plywood element. In 1946 the lounge chair was initially conceived as part of a series of furniture for the Domus Academica student housing complex in Helsinki. Over time, the Domus Lounge Chair's fame has extended far beyond, suiting any setting still today. The lounge chair is available in: honey or black birch and oak finish. The upholstery is available in leather or fabric.
