Big Mushroom is a particular, soft, large and inviting armchair, designed by Pierre Paulin in 1960 and reproduced today for the Artifort brand. This iconic armchair was first launched as the F562 and was relaunched today as the Big Mushroom. Made in different coatings to meet your needs. Designer Pierre Paulin has distinguished himself with this armchair for its original shape, bright colors and revolutionary manufacturing technique for the time. The idea for the mushroom came to Pierre Paulin as he looked at women, modeled and dressed in their bathing suits. He wanted the same thing for a session. The inspiration was found in the beautiful curves and in the one-piece elastic fabric of the seamless costumes. Big Mushroom is the first piece of furniture made using a seamless one-piece elastic coating method. Its original shape will mark the furniture of the 60s inspiring many other creations with sculptural forms. Today, the venue is part of the permanent collection of MoMa (The Museum of Modern Art in New York). The round shapes and the comfortable padding go perfectly with the bright colors for an original and trendy effect. Extremely comfortable, the Big Mushroom is an attractive armchair that makes you want to curl up and fully enjoy your relaxation.
