Bidjar Highgate Aerial Rug by Jan Kath, is part of the Erased Heritage collection that takes inspiration from ancient craft techniques and transforms them into a contemporary object.Bidjar Highgate Aerial Rug allows the power of the Kurdish textile tradition of Bidjar weaving to burst forth from a neutral surface. All the details of the typical floral decoration, reminiscent of the Herati motif, are shown in their typical colours, predominantly red and beige, contrasting with a layer that seems to be superimposed on it. The neutral hue succumbs to the vigour of the antique style, which, however glimpsed, dominates the scene. The collection is designed to ensure that oriental culture, known the world over for its textiles, can survive the passage of time, reworking it in a contemporary, urban key. Rug made from hand-carded yarns. Composition: Tibetan wool and Chinese silk. Hand-knotted and dyed with natural pigments. Made in Nepal. The dimensions of each Jan Kath rug can be customised, our Customer Service is at your disposal for further information.
