Bedrock Plank C is a new product designed by Terry Dwan for Riva 1920. The top is made of solid walnut wood with 5 cm thick natural sides. The base is made of iron and is hand-shaped and soldered, with asymmetric short-sides. The top can be in oak with knots or in walnut with knots. The knots are treated with a special black-colored wax which is heated and put into the knot. When it solidifies, it covers up the knot. It is possible to find wax crystallization effects or color variations. Also the number and dimensions of knots is variable. Any cracks or splits in the top of the table are considered normal, being typical features of solid wood. The top is usually formed by two boards. In lack of two boards of the same length and width when the order is placed, or in the case of a requested top with a width over 90-100 cm, the top can be made by four boards glued together. The base is made of iron plate, natural colored and finished with oil.
