Atman is a table lamp designed by Enzo Catellani, and produced by Catellani & Smith. This table lamp was born from a happy inspiration of designer Enzo Catellani during a trip to India. It was there that he was struck by a culture of silence and chaos, and discovered oval-shaped sacred stones, which he decided to recreate in crystal, calling them "Atman", a word that means "soul" in Sanskrit. Atman therefore consists almost entirely of the crystal diffuser, which makes it light and whose nickel-plated base is used as an almost invisible support and container for the light source. The light emission passes through the diffuser and emerges from it with unique reflections, exploiting the shape and material with which it is made.
