Acrylic is a special and elegant table lamp designed by designer Joe Colombo for the famous brand OLuce. "Acrilica" won, in 1964, the gold medal at the XIII Triennale di Milano. The model of the Acrylic lamp was made in 1962, simply born as 281, will be nicknamed later "Acrylic", recalling the main material of this object and the extraordinary use that is made with 281. The methacrylate, in fact, already used by about a decade in the field of lighting, usually in thin sheets cut or thermoformed, finds here a very particular use. The shape and the important thickness of the curve that composes it, thanks to the conducting properties, allows the light of a fluorescent bulb contained inside the painted steel base to go up along the transparent body and illuminate the head.Light source: 1 x max 6W (W4.3 x 8.5d).
