636 Elling Sideboard

636 Elling Buffet is a design signed in 1919 by Gerrit T. Rietveld and in production today for the brand Cassina. The Maestro Gerrit T. Rietveld, a leading exponent of the neo-plastic current, designed a piece of furniture with a solid wood frame, wooden doors and drawers back in 1919, originally used in the model house designed by J.P Oud for Spargen, Rotterdam, and in various interior design projects, including the project by P.J Elling. In a play of subtractions and inclusions, the cabinet doors and drawers blend into the structural grid in a dynamic result that brings us back to the essence of design, the absolute protagonist of the room.
