Designed by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina, 524 Tabouret Berger, with its clean and simple line, reminds us of those stools used by the shepherds to milk the cows. Characterized by three legs “cut” finished, it is available in three solid wood finishes: natural oak, black-stained oak, natural American walnut. Shown for the first time in Tokyo at the Synthèse des arts exhibition in 1955, Berger is a lower version of the shepherd's milking stool, hence its name. It is a timeless classic that enhances the shapes and thicknesses of all finishes of wood, thus its expressiveness. This stool can be used alone, or combined with the higher version, the Méribel, and both can also be used as a small table. The deisgner was a true lover of the mountain and its typical materials and produces two objects of great purity and linearity, inspired by the simplicity of mountain interiors. Classic yet contemporary, they have a comfortable round seat, supported by rounded legs and are suitable for sophisticated environments.
